Heard about the latest buzz??? Yes, its all about Buzz.....Google buzz....
Google has been steadily loosing its grip on the social networking space.Orkut which it bought long ago, is not exactly doing well compared to Facebook and Twitter. So Buzz is Google's answer to Facebook and Twitter. This is the news which came on today's newspaper.
To me this option is better than Orkut,Twitter or Facebook because it is much more user friendly as we have so many new options in it.
Twitter was fine for posting plain status messages. It had no provision to display the photo or video within itself. You had to post the photos and videos elsewhere and put the link in Twitter. Facebook allowed you to display photos and you could also view photos inside Facebook.
And now comes Buzz....... Attached to Google's Gmail service, Buzz allows you to have short or very long text chats with people who are also owners of Google accounts. The company's executives describe it as the"Poster child" for Google's future : a social networking structure that automatically finds people to connect with you. There are also privacy concerns that it could distribute details about people contacted by e-mail.
Buzz creates a "social circle" of people to whom you are "connected" , through having e-mailed them or having visited their profile page. It lets you post comments, pictures and videos. It is claimed that Buzz could become an aggregator for sites, as Google is now for news. Presently, however, it only works on a few phones: Apple's i-phone and the latest Google Nexus. If Buzz were adopted by all of Gmail's existing users , it would slingshot past News' Corporation's MySpace to become the world's second largest social network behind Facebook, which now has more than 400 million users.
So it seems like Google's Buzz will very soon be the new in-thing which could overtake all other competitors in the social networking space...... Lets see what happens..........
