Hi, Comrades
When I thought of putting this issue I understand that it may invoke a lot of mixed reactions from the followers of this blog-spot. Moreover, there may be a case of insufficient data collection as I have not gone through the visual media reports( i.e News channels) due to strict hostel T.V timings. But still I will try to throw light on the issue on the basis of reports I went through and will try my level best to give a neutral stand.
So it all started with the IPL auction where none of the Pakistani players were picked by any franchise which caused a huge uproar amongst the Pakistani media. SRK gave interview in a News Channel sometime back citing that Pakistan is one of the best neighbors we have and their players should have been selected as they are amongst the best players in the 20-20 format. Shiv Sena through its mouth piece 'Samna' sent a warning to SRK asking him to apologize or the screening of 'My Name Is Khan' will be shunned. Media did what it is best at.......mixing up issues. Almost all the leading channels made it a headline but lesser said the better when it comes to media.
The point to be noted here is How is that suddenly Pakistan which has been a tragic neighbor to India in many respects become a best one? How can we forget the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers protecting our frontier? What about 26/11? Though SRK's comment sounded anti-national but soon he mended the issue by admitting that things were misconstructed.
Sena is no better at making hue and cry over issues which should be given little interest confusing the Indian masses in deciding which is right or wrong.
Now I may sound individualistic but this is what I infer from the whole issues. It is in the interest of the people of India that both the parties should resolve the issue as soon as possible or else this will keep on lingering on obscuring grave issues that need immediate treatment.

Bollywood backs Shah Rukh Khan, snubs Shiv Sena
ReplyDeleteBollywood is finally rallying around Shah Rukh Khan and speaking out against the Shiv Sena.
Famous actors like Salman Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Nana Patekar have came out in support of Shah Rukh Khan, who is under fire from the Sena for backing Pakistani players in the Indian Premier League.
Salman asked political parties to keep cricket and politics apart.
Nana Patekar, a Maharashtrian himself, blamed the society and the government for giving Shiv Sena a free hand in taking law into their hands.
But Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has once again used the party mouthpiece Saamna to launch a scathing attack on Shah Rukh Khan.
Balasaheb has called SRK a traitor in his later article and says that the actor must remember that the 26/11 attackers were mostly Pakistanis.
Even the saffron brigade is divided over Shah Rukh Khan's statements. Openly defying the RSS and BJP, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has now come out against Shah Rukh Khan.
VHP's General Secretary Pravin Togadia has called for a boycott of SRK's film My Name Is Khan.
VHP's call could bring some solace to the Shiv Sena which is increasingly getting isolated.
Togadia has slammed Shah Rukh for his support to Pakistani cricket players. The VHP has also warned the film fraternity, saying that if actors make political comments they should be prepared to face the consequences.
The VHP even went as far as demanding that Pakistani artists should not be allowed to work in the Indian film industry.
What a sorry state of affairs. And we call ourselves Indians!
