On 14th February 2010 India witnessed another vicious attack on its citizens and other foreign nationals who had visited her. It was an attack not only India but also on another religion. This has happened days after India had decided to re-engage talks with Pakistan. News channels have indicated that this is only the beginning of a series of attacks on Indian soil. This is not surprising as the main goal of the terrorists is to destabilize India thus striking fear into the subcontinent and stagnate development in the area. Terrorism is the main concern around the world and all the countries are struggling to control it. This is likely to be the case for some decades to come as more and more developed countries like USA try to combat terrorism with weapons alone and cause collateral damage which increases the inflow of youths into terrorism. I believe the best solution for eradicating terrorism is through education and creating awareness among youth. Again there is uproar over intelligence agencies not doing their job but i think we are too hard on them as many a terrorist strikes have been diffused and India is a huge nation and to monitor every nook and corner we would require more security forces. Hopefully in the coming budget the finance minister would allocate more funds to increase our nation’s security.

No amount of money will contain terrorism. Mindsets have to change.
