Mohanlal and Priyadarshan plan to invest in IPL
Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal and ace director Priyadarshan are set to bid for an IPL team together. If successful, the duo will be following the footsteps of Bollywood stars like Sharukh Khan, Priety Zinta, Juhi Chawla and Shilpa Shetty who are all team owners in the IPL. IPL is set to increase the number of teams from the current 8 to 10 by next year ie 2011. When this expansion happens, there are widespread rumours that Kerala would be playing host to one of these teams. The approximate investment in an IPL team would be in the tune of Rs 1400 crores for a period of 10 years and there has been reports that the actor-director duo are in talks with the Rs 20,000 crore business house, Muthoot Paappachan Group for funding this investment. If everything works out fine, then our own superstar "Lalettan" will also be the proud owner of an IPL team. All the best Laletta......
