If everything and everybody were carbon copies of each other , life would be a super boring ordeal … a pain in the truest of all senses . However, we would have been saved from the conflict between ‘this’ and ‘that’. Thankfully we are not left with a choice here . It is a world of differences and the conflict rules mercilessly. No wonder I had once upon a time kept my name as indigoreasons@rediffmail.com , a reflection of the unending arguments within me. Some mystery advocate always justifies everything possible under the sun with a big tick mark. However, everything seems so good with such reasoning, that my decisions are always delayed and the process of making it… a terrible and utterly complex nightmare.
I can’t decide on what to write here in ‘ThIs oR tHAt’.
I can’t decide whether to put the extra effort to bring out a chair in this ridiculous wee hour of three something in the morning or just stand at the table in the corridor and move my fat fingers( the only live company being a weird , noisy and stupid cat.)
What do I wear? What do I eat? To which side should I sleep? Why do I worry? Will the cat bite?... (Paradoxically I am a student of the study of making ‘SOUND’ decisions.)
I wish I could sneeeeeze out these questions. If there is anything called ‘insatiable confusion’ I’m more than decent game. Life is indeed beautiful. Maybe the beauty of it lies in this chaos , making it more than a little silly and beautiful. Even Branson says, ‘Screw IT. Let’s do it.’ I love Branson. Some may say he is lucky. Yes he is lucky and that is why we all know him. That is why he is the famous Sir Branson. If he weren’t lucky he just wouldn’t have been famous or maybe he would not have had a ‘sir’ attached to his name. Big deal! His decisions would not have changed anyway, famous or not.
Talking of decisions, I am reminded of Nike… the ‘Nike’ with a tick mark. They gave a tick mark to ‘child labour’. They even gave one to Woods( with a Tiger) even when Accenture and others ticked him off. In case if anybody innocent is wondering what Woods is doing here… well… he is deep waters over the mystery of a car, a crash and a girl/many girls (let him decide on that) and around $12 billion dumped in the same waters. I certainly do not give any marks to Nike for their child labour infamy. I am still to decide how big my tick mark would be over the ‘lovely, deep and dark’ Woods issue and Nike. After all Woods(with a Tiger ) had promises to keep. However, Nike gets a complete and royal ten on ten from my side for saying a ‘yes!’. .. for ‘just’ deciding, whether good or bad… this or that. So here goes an elongated and stylish tick mark for team Nike. Cheers to the loud and difficult decision taken!
i am totally with you ash...we spend so much time just weighing the consequences of a decision when we know this or that we are still going to have some good or bad..Y spend so much time in making a decision that has the potential to go good or bad???Gives me more reasons to bac\k spontaneous and fast decisions...:)
ReplyDeleteYeah, Ashla nd Jomsy. if you dilly dally on decisions, you are a dour, dull soul. Make quick ones and u belong to the fast and furious tribe.
ReplyDeleteNice piece of literature. And what were u up to at 3 in the morning? Sleep walking?
